2019 Mascot - Harley

(Simi Valley) Animal Rescue Volunteers (ARV), a local non-profit rescue group, will be hosting their 14th annual Wag ‘n Walk event (charity dog walk), September 28, 2019 at Rancho Simi Community Park. Each year ARV chooses one dog among their currently rescued dogs to help promote their annual fundraiser.

This year's mascot is Harley, a Pomeranian / Chihuahua mix. Harley was born in approx 2011.  We rescued him from the shelter in 2014.  He was picked up as a stray with a badly damaged left eye which had to be removed surgically.  Sadly, this was a result of humans mistreating him.  He was adopted twice but was returned as his devotion is limited to one person in the household.  He displays overly protective tendencies to the one he has chosen as his person, even if that 'one' has a two-legged significant other.

Once you have gained Harley's trust, he wants nothing more than to be in your lap or be held in your arms.  Luckily, it doesn't take much to gain his trust and love, just a little bit of time, understanding, and allowing him to make the first move.  He is good with women, and is ok with men as well, though it may take him just a tad longer to waddle on over and sit on their feet.  He loves to sit in laps and gives little kisses and jumps to be picked up.

We are looking for a single person for this little guy, someone who is looking for a pint size shadow and lap warmer. A guardian who knows that s/he may need to seclude Harley in another room while having company.  Help Harley find his forever home. He really is a sweet boy and so deserving of a home that will understand and love him for who he is.
